Fly in's at SMMAC

The planning wheels have been in motion and dates have been set. We have plenty going on this year at the field so come on out and enjoy the fun.

Giant Scale Saturdays are starting on May 1st. This is a monthly get together on the first Saturday of each month. Bring the big birds out and some food for a potluck lunch. We start early and end late so come when you can.

Memorial Day we're having a potluck flyin. Bring some food and planes to fly. If people stay late we'll have a bonfire and enjoy the evening.

July 4th is the day after the July Giant Scale Saturday so bring your camper or tent and lets make a weekend of it.

Watts over Owatonna is and all electric fly in the weekend of July 30th - Aug 1st. Bring out the E-planes and join us in a weekend of all electric flying. There is a pilots raffle and Karen has promised us some great food! Go here for more detials http://www.smmac.com/WATTS

Minnesota Scale Classic is Aug 7th at the SMMAC field. A Scale Masters Qualifiers. Top 30 percent in Sportsman/Expert & Team scale qualify. Plaques go to the top three plus prizes. $10 entry fee.

Northern Alliance Military Fly In is back again on Aug 13th - Aug 15th. Don't miss this event! Come see hundreds of military airplanes swarming the air. Bring your own military plane and join in the fun. There is no size requirement on the planes but they need to be an actual military plane and not an extra with military stickers. Camp onsite and enjoy the evening camaraderie. Sat evening features the famous Rib and sweet corn dinner. Regular concessions available all weekend. http://www.smmac.com/NAMFI

Northern Alliance Military Alliance Fly In 2010

The dates have been set for the 2010 Northern Alliance Military Fly In. August 13th 14th and 15th 2010 are the dates so mark it on your calendars. We'll have more details and registration information on the site soon so check back often. If you missed last year you missed some great airplanes and flights by some of the best pilots around including a spectacular demonstration flight of a A-10 by David Schulman. We are also working on a B-17 gathering for this event so if you have one to bring and fly please get in touch with us. We're looking forward to another great year.

WATTS over Owatonna 2010

WATTS over Owatonna is a weekend of electric powered RC fun. Come on out and bring your electric powered planes, helicopters or whatever you have that can fly under electric power. Don't have any electric RC aircraft? Come check out what all is possible with electric RC flight. We'll have concessions available and camping is allowed on site so stay overnight and enjoy some night time flying too. The event fee is only $10 and that includes a pilots raffle.
